Elijah's Story-The Letters

The letters your about to see and read have been passed down thru the years, and for the most part still reside in the hands of Beeman Descendants.

You will see the paper and ink.

You will see Elijah's penmanship & his  Innocent Early American grammar.

You will see Patriotism, Bravery, Desperation, & Love.

And you will see Faith in God, something that was always in the minds and ways of our Forefathers, something placed and kept in the foundation of the United States to keep it pure, honest, and equal.

Much of the credit for the preservation of these historical letters goes to Elijah's Grand-Niece  Leona Belle (Waller) Bree. Leona was the daughter of William Russell & Nellie Lula (Beeman) Waller. Nellie Lula Beeman was the daughter of Elijah's brother Jefferson Beeman and his second wife Mary Howsare.

Leona was a family genealogist who valued each letter as a separate diamond. Leona, with the help of her nephew Joe, had the letters restored, preserved, and scanned. Joe who has shared these images with us says Leona was a very sweet lady who was very interested in sharing all of her historical work with any interested party.

Leona did what every genealogist hopes to do, she made a difference. She kept Elijah's Story from disappearing. May he and she be remembered forever.
